Principal's Welcome to GNGHS

On behalf of the entire staff, I want to welcome you to Gray-New Gloucester High School. Our goal is to create a safe, caring, and supportive student centered learning environment to meet the needs of all students. The success of every student is important to our staff. To ensure that this goal is met, students must come to school prepared for the challenges of our highly effective and rigorous learning environment. As valued members of our school community, we want our students to communicate their thoughts, concerns or needs to our teachers, counselors, and administrators.

We want students to make the most of their exciting high school years and encourage them to be involved in the school community in and out of the classroom. Involvement beyond the classroom provides students with extended learning opportunities. We believe that students who are involved beyond the school day experience a greater sense of school community.

It is important for parents and guardians to talk with their children about their goals. We encourage you to contact us with questions or concerns that may arise during the school year. Our staff is available to guide and support students throughout their high school experience. Please take advantage of the many opportunities that are offered at Gray New Gloucester High School. I can be reached by e-mail papenna@msad15.org or at 657-9303.

Sincerely,

Paul Penna, Principal

Beginning this year ALL students at the high school will be issued an Apple iBook Computer and case. We are very excited about this local decision to make technology available to all of the high school students. It is important that the computer is used as an educational tool. In accordance with the Maine Department of Education guidelines, the school must require all parents and students to receive training before assigning a computer.
